Heightened Safety Protocols At Airports Nationwide In Support Of The National Recovery Plan,96cash

SEPANG – Safety protocols at the network of airports operated by Malaysia Airports have been heightened in line with the latest Movement Control Order (MCO) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in support of the National Recovery Plan announced by the Prime Minister. These improved SOPs aim to help the country flatten the curve and mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although airports nationwide remain open to provide essential services, they are operating with a 50% workforce at the terminal for shift workers while the rest of the support staff are instructed to work from home to minimise the risk of infection.

For the passengers, constant reminders are given through all our external communication channels on important SOPs such as reminding airport guests to update their latest health status on MySejahtera app prior to scanning the QR code and before entering the terminal. On top of that, passengers who are catching a flight will be requested to produce relevant supporting travel documents, including approved travelling permit from the authorities, and swab test results for international passengers at the entrance of the terminal. The entry and exit points of the terminal have also been restricted to singular points which are manned by the airport’s Aviation Security unit who carries out the initial screening and allows entrance for only guests with low-risk profiles on MySejahtera.

Dedicated airport staff in full safety gears are constantly patrolling the terminal to ensure passengers and the airport community comply to physical distancing and proper usage of face masks. The frequency of safety announcements has been increased to remind everyone in the terminal to maintain good personal hygiene apart from adhering to the SOPs.

Passengers can be assured of the frequent sanitisation exercises conducted for all facilities at the airports in accordance with the highest level of safety standards. Malaysia Airports is working hand-in-hand with all airport stakeholders including the government authorities and airline partners in making sure our efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 will be successful.
